Finding the correct bracelet size is the biggest headache whenever we make a bracelet at home if we do not know its length.

How long should we choose our bracelet? If it's too long, we will get a loose and ugly one, and it won't fit as well if it's too short.

In this article, we will learn how to measure bracelet size at home with easy steps.

Let's get started.

Measuring Preparation

To start, we will need a soft or flexible measuring tape. If you don't have a soft tape at home, you can use a flexible cord alternatively. Even a strip of paper could also help. Just use whatever you have around you.

Subsequently, we should prepare a ruler, pen, or pencil to mark down the cord's length.

Here is the list of tools you will need during the measuring.

Tools List:

  • Soft measuring tape × 1
  • Flexible cord × 1
  • Ruler × 1
  • Pen or Pencil × 1

How to Measure Bracelet Size

Measuring your wrist for your bracelet is straightforward when all the tools are ready. Follow the steps below to measure your bracelet quickly.

Step 1: Measure your wrist with the soft tape by wrapping or stringing it around the thinnest part of your wrist snugly and comfortably, usually below the wrist bone. If you are using a cord, mark the end of the cord with your pen or pencil.

Step 2: Remove the tape or cord and measure its length with a ruler. This should be the size of your wrist.

Step 3: Add 1 to 2 cm to your bracelet length to find a suitable size if you like a tighter feeling. But if you prefer it looser, adding 3 to 4 cm would be enough. If measuring by an inch, add 0.5 to 1 inch for tighter bracelets and 1 to 1.5 inches for looser bracelets.

Take me as an example. My wrist size is 15cm. I prefer a slightly looser bracelet, so I will add 3 cm to the 15 cm of my wrist size, so the bracelet length I need is 18 cm.

Pro Tips:

  • When measuring the size, ensure the tape or cord is flat and not crooked.
  • If you use a cord to measure, mark it clearly; otherwise, there will be measurement errors.
  • You may need to measure several times and take the average to adjust the length.
  • Consider their length if you add pendants or accessories to the bracelet.

However, all the recommended bracelet sizes are for informational purposes only, and the specific sizes may vary. What we need is a comfortable but snug bracelet. Adjust the bracelet size a couple of times to ensure it suits your wrist nicely.

Conclusion

That's a quick overview of how to measure bracelet size at home. With so many options available, you can measure it quickly whether you make or buy a bracelet. You won’t have to worry about the wrong length or style.

Moreover, the process of measuring and selecting by yourself is also fun. Go and try it now.
